"Artists Past-Present-Future"

PAST

Taking Art all through school helped me to develop many skills but, the things I lacked were confidence, inspiration & passion! These are what prevented me from ever considering pursuing art after graduation. Being a native of Calgary and so close to the mountains, you would think it would be easy to be inspired. I did eventually find my inspiration in the unknown places I had never been. My first bit of confidence came after I had finished my Egyptian Motif. The art of Ancient Egypt mystified me, it was the first time that I understood the self-satisfaction of creating something. Once I had confidence I felt it was time to test my limits. I tried my hand at different styles of art, Abstract Motif, Animal Motif trying to find the key to my passion. In 2004 I had felt that maybe my art "hobby" had run its course, I had started and never finished at least 3 paintings. The problem was that I was becoming more concerned with skill and somewhere along the way, I had forgotten to leave myself open to being inspired.

PRESENT

And then, I met someone who inspired me to follow a dream, to make sacrifices for that dream and to give everything I have to achieve it! From that day, I have loved watching my Flower Motif pieces develop as if growing straight from the earth. The connection I feel to these pieces is beyond verbal expression, but I truly hope I managed to express these feelings through them. I was inspired when I started these paintings and my Passion has taken me in a whole new direction. In a world where you don't have to look too far to find turmoil, I managed to find my own place of solitude.

FUTURE

The future looks bright, creative, and very, very colorful! Look for my Butterfly Motif coming soon!!
